This year World Hepatitis Day will be the fourth annual promotion of awareness for the disease Hepatitis. Hepatitis is a deadly disease if left untreated; it affects your liver and can lead to cirrhosis of the liver. 10 times the amount of people who are infected with HIV are infected with Hepatitis and yet the awareness for this disease is too low. People aren’t aware of the risks of infection or the symptoms so when they become infected they don’t know.
People need to find out about this disease and hopefully the World Hepatitis Day will help with this. The death toll is 1.5 million a year and this needs to decrease, especially when you consider than there are treatments and vaccines available.
