Stand and Deliver: Olmos gives a powerful performance in this momentous drama as a hard, requesting professor who empowers his East L.A. barrio scholars to pass an Advanced Placement Calculus Quiz. That’s only the beginning of this tale that is based on a true story. Cast includes Edward James Olmos, Lou Diamond Phillips, Andy Garcia, Can Gotay, and Ingrid Oliu. (105 minutes, 1987)
The Pleasure Garden: Hitchcock’s first work, shot in Munich is a choppy account of a pair of chorus gals, one sugary and knowing, the other a waif. They eventually both become involved with the same man. Cast includes Virginia Valli, Carmelita Geraghty, Miles Mander, Jolm Stuart, and George Snell. (68 minutes, 1935)
MacArthur: Intense, look at the legend of the elaborate militiary chief throughout WW2 and Korean Battle. Peck is phenomenal although film doesn’t hold the punch of Patton. Cast includes Gregory Peck, Dan O’Herlihy, Ed Flanders, Sandy Kenyon, Dick O’Neill, and Craft Fleming. (130 minutes, 1977)
The Front: Bull’s eye comedy with heavy topic. Allen is a ‘front’ registered by blacklisted authors to set his name on their scripts throughout 1950s communist witchhunt, leading to assorted problems. Cast includes Woody Allen, Nil Mostel, Herschel Bernardi, Michael Murphy, Andrea Marcovicci, Remak Ramsay, Joshua Shelley, Lloyd Gough, and Danny Aiello. (94 minutes, 1976)
Blaze of Noon: A hokey tale of Holden torn between his spouse (Baxter) and his real love, flying. Cast includes Anne Baxter, William Holden, Sonny Tufts, William Bendix, and Sterling Hayden. (91 minutes, 1987)
Black Orpheus: Street car conductor Mello and countrygirl Dawn fall in love in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival. Musical updating of the Orpheus and Eurydice fable is beautifully performed and prompted. Cast includes Breno Mello, Marpessa Dawn, Lea Garcia, Adhemar Da Silva, and Lourdes De Oliveira. For Keeps: Studious adolescent Ringwald finds that she pregnant, and must swiftly face adult duties. Topic is most beneficial, although the outcome is unsurprising and fake. Tim Kazurinsky coauthored the screenplay. Cast includes Molly Ringwald, Randall Batinkoff, Kenneth Harms, Miriam Flynn, Conchata Ferrell, Sharon Brown, Renee Estevez, and Larry Drake. The General: One of Keaton’s best silent films, setting comedy contrary to real Civil Battle tale of stolen train, and Union spies. Not as fanciful as other Keaton films, although beautifully finished. Cast includes Buster Keaton, Marion Mack, Glen Cavender, Jim Farley, and Joseph Keaton. (100 minutes, 1984)
Reptilicus: The tail of a prehistoric beast, recently found, spawns into the whole animal. Only excellent for a few laughs as script hits every possible beast film stereotype, right to the very last shot. The picture was filmed in Denmark. Cast includes Carl Ottosen, Ann Smyrner, Mimi Heinrich, Asbjom Andersen, and Marla Behrens. (90 minutes, 1962)
Light Years: Conceited energized sci-fi fantasy, in regards to a prince who time-voyages into the future; he’s enclosed by characters identified Ambisextra, Transformation, Chief of the Distorted, and The Collective Voice (so you know this wasn’t made with youthful kids in mind). Cast includes Thomas Howell, Peter Horton, Courtney Thome-Smilh, Harley Jane Kozak, Christopher Rydell, Terry Kiser, Randy Stoklos, Sinjin Smilh, and Kathy Ireland. (100 minutes, 1990)
Indian Love Call: 15-year-old Arikara (Crawford), his foal, and his becoming a man. Cast includes Johnny Crawford, Jay Silverheels, Pat Hogan, Robert Crawford, Jr., and George J. Lewis. (91 minutes, 1936)

Functionality: Be sure to code your pages so they load quickly – ten seconds or less is a good rule of thumb. Use familiar terms in your menu: Home, Contact Us, About Us, Help, and so on. Do not use “hip” or “cool” alternatives. On long pages, use text navigation links so that users will not have to scroll back up the page.
Layout: Utilize high contrast for the main part of your page; black text with a white background, or vice versa, will work best. Make sure your font sizes are 10pt or larger for the bulk of your page. Stay away from using serif fonts like Times Roman, as they are hard to make out from a computer screen. Avoid text appearing in long blocks. Make sure that your site looks good by testing it with different browsers and resolutions.
Branding Your Site: Feature your logo on all the pages. Create a tagline to accompany your logo that’s easy to remember and brings your business to mind. Choose a layout and color scheme that is consistent and recognizable throughout the site. Include an About Us section which contains significant details about you and your company. A copyright statement should be included at the bottom of every page. Your logo should be linked to the homepage, except on the home page itself. Include a link to the home page on all the other pages.
Content: Make sure to avoid jargon and unique, technical language in the content of your site. Using laymen’s terms helps everyone to understand the information better. The exception to this, of course, is if you have a website about technical information for technical people. Make sure you spell check all text. Spelling errors are embarrassing and can hurt your credibility.
Hyperlinks: Be sure you include descriptive links. Instead of text that says “click here,” make sure the links indicate what the user will be linking to. Make sure your links are underlined and be sure to use a consistent color for them throughout your site. Anything that isn’t a link should not be underlined. If you decide to specify a different color for the links in your CSS, make sure that you choose different colors for visited and unvisited links. Check that all of your links are working and not broken.

With the onslaught of computer hackers, scammers, and viruses that are prevalent around the Internet, it is important to know how and why you should install a firewall. This is your first line of defense between your computer and data that is entering it. With one, you can avoid dangerous attacks that can wipe out your data or steal personal information.
The type of firewall required for your computer should be ascertained since there are a wide variety available including those from major corporations such as Microsoft.
A firewall is likely to be set up and ready to use if the computer came installed with the Microsoft XP or Vista operating system though you might have to tweak it if you are using broadband telephony with software offered by various Voip companiesor other addons to your PC. Check that it is turned on and working properly. Purchase your own software if you do not have one of these newer operating systems.
